When I was just a baby my momma had to work.
She took me to a sitter, said, “Do all that she may ever say.”
I’ve been a slave to the women ever since that day.
I want eight, women to carry me to my grave.
I said, I want eight mighty fine women to carry me to my grave.
Because all of my life to the women I have been a slave.
When I went to school, that very first day.
When I went to school, that very first day.
Mom said, “Here’s your teacher. Do all that she may ever say.”
Worked hard to please that woman every single day.
I want eight women to carry me to my grave.
I said I want eight mighty fine women to carry me to my grave.
Because all of my life to the women I have been a slave.
On the day I got married, guess what the preacher said to me.
On the day I got married, guess what the preacher said to me.
“If you’re gonna’ be happy, do all that she may ever say.”
Now I’m a slave to that woman until my dying day.
I want eight women to carry me to my grave.
I said I want eight mighty fine women to carry me to my grave.
Because all of my life to the women I have been a slave.
